I've always loved muscle cars. From the guys in high school with the 69 Camaro Z-28, the 70 Trans Am, the 69 Camaro SS, the 70 Chevelle 454, and on and on. But the one car that I thought was really the "coolest" belonged to a man who owned the mechanic shop near my school. He had a white 1969 Corvette convertible. He always parked it
I've always loved muscle cars. He always parked it in front of his shop with the top down. It was gorgeous and that Vette started my quest to get one.
"I've never seen a car I didn't like". I can't get enough of cars. I love the way they look, what makes them tick, what makes them unique.
My collection has grown from that first Corvette. While still mostly sports cars my taste includes some trucks too.
My collection has recently found a new home in the Two Spark Garage. I found this old gas station that was built in the 1920s in a small central Texas town. It is a great atmosphere and let's me share my passion with others.
The 2008 Corvette was chosen to pace the Indy 500. Actually THREE Corvettes were chosen that year - the Z51 (coupe and convertible) and aE85 concept Z06.
Besides being a Pace Car Edition, the Z51 Corvette was also a 30th Anniversary Edition featuring a black exterior with silver graphics honoring the 1978 Corvette - the first Corvette to pace the Indy 500.
A total of 500 black and silver replica pace cars were built. Each were signed and numbered by Emerson Fittipaldi. Sixty were delivered to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (43 convertibles and 17 coupes) to serve as festival cars and other track duties.
Hard to beat the sound of a 454 Chevy in a Corvette
